Home to Australia's richest professional golf tournament the $1.5 million Heineken Classic, The Vines has been rated in Australia's top three resort courses since 1991. The Marsh/Watson creation is a strong compelling layout which winds along the banks of the beautiful Ellenbrook through gently undulating natural bushland, with three dramatic lakes around the resort centre. A range of tee positions cater for golfers of all abilities.

I played the Vines a few days after the Heineken classic.
The greens are very large, soft and run quick but true making approach
shots and putting very enjoyable. The bunkers are plentiful and large with
soft deep sand making some holes very painful if you leave it short or are
wayward, however, all of this is irrelavent if you don't stay on the
extremely narrow fairways. The rough is just unplayable and you can
destroy a brilliant round on any of the 18 holes. David Livingstone could
be alive and well in there.
A fantastic layout for the low to mid handicapper, however, the high
handicapper may may find it a bit trying.
