This course is rated as one of the finest.
An undulating course which will reward the well placed drive; with generous slick greens, and lovely
surroundings. Two of my favourite holes would be the par 3 8th, from an
elevated tee position you are looking down on the green, approx 150m. Club
selection is important. Bunkers on either side of the green, the right
side will catch the shortish shot the one on the left will grab the
longer mis-directed hit. The green is long and narrower than most on the
course, and quite often the pion is over the right side bunker. If you are
long you will face an uphill chip onto the green that then runs away from
you. The next hole is the 11th, a par 5 485m down the slope. This hole
snakes its way down to a large green with a bunker that covers the left
side of the green and a smaller one on the right. The tee shot you face
gives a generous landing area but a long straight hit will find a fairway
bunker that is visible from the tee. However, if you can shape a ball right
to left and just miss the bunker you can then have a go at the green. Not
too much left though, for you will then be blocked out by some trees. This
hole gives the long hitter a good chance at an eagle.
