Gold Coast’s best value golf course
Possibly the Gold Coast’s most underrated golf course suitable for mid to low handicaps. Quite a challenging layout and the course is in great condition. Signature holes are the par 3 15th and the par 5 18th which are stunning. Lots of kangaroos on course too.
The course facilities include a good driving range and putting green to warm up on which is great. The clubhouse is a bit dated and the pro shop is large but bare which doesn’t reflect the overall high quality of the golf course which I encourage people to play.
Nice golf course, needs some TLC
Nice course, great layout, perfect weather (a bit hot)
Course needs some care - bunkers are the worst, some fairways needed cut and blow. Greens good - very quick.
Definetly worth recomendation.
Great test
In great shape! Greens are lightning! Bring your a game!
great design
this course is one of the best designed with fast greens, however, the general maintenance leaves a lot to be desired. once the ball was off the fairways it was very hard to find and can result in some frustration for average players. The senior male staff was exceptional, friendly, and helpful
terrible bunkers
bunkers are very very poor. No sand overgrown with weeds and grass. Areas of fairways are not maintained at all.
Where do I start
Played Arundel hills last Thursday, booked for 4 players at 11.57, when we arrived there were no carts available, we have 6 other groups piled up behind us waiting also, we eventually teed off at 12.50pm, there were only 2 staff on for the day, one poor lady in the bar and one poor bugger in the pro shop, pathetic to say the least, apparently there was over 250 bookings. This once great course is a shadow of what it use to be, the fairways are ok and so are the greens but that’s where it stops, the bunkers are like concrete full of weeds and tree rubbish, totally unplayable. The paths are un drivable in places, ripped apart from tree roots, there are trees blown down in places from storms weeks/months ago which haven’t been cleaned up, if your ball rolls off the fairway good luck finding it, the first cut of rough is 150mm long, and the club house, no food at all when we arrived, and the place looks like it has been deserted for 20 years, overall the course is a joke to be honest, the place needs millions spent on it, would not recommend to anyone
Great course, great round.
Course in good condition, greens were very quick. Perfect weather on the day made it a good day of golf.
This course needs a lot of love.
The clubhouse needs a Reno, the carts are tired, the bunkers are unplayable, the greens were ok.
From what this course was it has been let go to a poor standard.
Wish I had payed before
Having played most Gold Coast courses over a 20plus period of living in the area, I am not sure why I haven’t played before. Very good layout. Although conditions were not quite right there is plenty of evidence of work being done on greens in particular, which is encouraging. Would definitely recommend and plan too play again.
Excellent
Right up there with the best course I've ever played brilliant layout
Great layout
Having played over 100 courses, Arundel is in my top two (Brookwater being the other)
Unhappy first timer
Course was in great condition however the tee schedules were horrible, first tee was backed up and they didn’t have a cart available for me despite booking one earlier in the day. Waited 30mins to get one. 5 separate groups on the first tee and took 3 hours to play 9 holes, very slow play because of the backed up bookings and this was on a weekday!
Would not go again
Course was in good nick
Course was very good overall especially the greens.kost enjoyable afternoon
Sad
It's extremely sad to see one of the best golf courses on the Gold Coast, slowly deteriorating to the state that it's in.
The bunkers have been out of play for over a year and there has been zero attempt to do anything with them. The cart paths are breaking apart. Amenities are all JUST functioning. Carts are on their last legs.
It is not a fault of the staff so please don't take your anger out on them. The new international owners cut 60-70% of the greens keepers and maintenance staff. The staff that do remain operate under the direction of the owners representatives. Budgets for repairs and upgrades are virtually non-existent. Unfortunately, this seems to be the case with the majority of courses that are bought out by similar international owners,, The mentality of doing the bare minimum required to open the doors is an ongoing trend and it's obvious that there seems to be no comprehension of the fact that putting a bandaid on something does not mean that it's 'fixed',
The "tee through the green" areas are excellent, and the course is still great to play, albeit without the challenge of bunkers. Just don't expect to be blown away with the upkeep and experience of everything that isn't grass.
Awful carts and oaths and bunkers
I played 2 days ago. Our cart broke down after 4 holes, just got back to the clubhouse to find another group in front replacing their 2nd cart. The replacement cart steering was awful, wheel pointed 90 degrees to direction, front tyres were scrubbing out. Apparently it did have new batteries and did get us around. The bunkers are GUR. They have no sand or are full of water, no attempt by green staff to pump them out, weeds growing in them, may as well make them grass. Some of the carts paths are in terrible condition, broken concrete, tree roots, water over paths. No warning of broken concrete before you drive on it, no wonder the carts are stuffed. Never saw a green staff member the whole time we were on the course, so no wonder the bunkers are out of play. They haven’t seen a rake or maintenance on them for ages.. won’t be back. Waste of money.
