Dissapointing how much this course has deteriorated
Greens are terrible, tee boxes not maintained or mowed, bunkers not maintained and out of play. Such a shame for a previously great course
Golf review
Fairways were really nice, but that’s it. greens were really bad. Lumpy and bumpy. Tees where really bad. Won’t be playing there again. Not worth the money at all.
Terrible Condition
Prior to booking, checked with club about condition of course in context of Scarifying. Was told it was done 3-4 weeks ago and greens were at 90%. Upon arrival, the staff provided unsolicited advise that the course was at 90%. The condition of the course in general was 70% and the greens looked like they had been Scarified a week prior and had 5mm of sand across the surface - unplayable. I understand that all courses need maintenance, but I had specifically asked on the condition as other courses were up front in their online booking. Charging full rates for a course under maintenance and stating it is almost perfect is not cool.
Greens under repair
I have played this course a number of times hence coming back. The tees and fairways were top class but the greens are under repair and full of sand and bobbly.
You should warn players of this before they book and certainly not charge top $$$
Alot better than a few years ago
I was very impressed with the overall course condition compared to the previous time I played the course ( probably 7yrs ago).
Pace of play was awesome. Played 18 holes in 3 1/2hrs. ( only dislike was even playing at a good speed we were still being hit up on regularly from the group behind, we just kept up with the group in front of us for the round , not the clubs fault however still annoying ).
Will be back soon.
The course was in great condition. We were disappointed that our time slot was somehow double booked on what was already a very busy day
Challenging
Nice course very challenging not much room for error
Could be better
Nice laid out course, but the greens were pretty slow, it was a hot day no ice in esky, very slow play once we hit the 10th. Tee boxes were not cut, not as good as it was.
Still got it
Robina Woods have long been regarded as one of the better layouts in Australia and it continues to be an outstanding challenge, and visually impressive..
The course is in pretty good condition, with slick greens that rewarded good touch.
Bunkers all had plenty of sand.
Some of the course grooming was not at the standard of a top tier course - around bunkers for example.
Only two small gripes:
1. The practice range manager asked for warmup session to be hit from mats, "so the grass could be saved for members". There appeared to be plenty of grass available on the large practice range and summer growth under way.
2. The carts did not have sand in the containers, no ice in the esky and no GPS monitor.
Great course as always
It's still Robina Woods to me but by any name this is one of the best courses on the Gold coast. The course is being well maintained, fairways are excellent and the greens are pristine. All in all a perfect day of golf. My one small gripe was that they stood down the drinks cart at 12 which is crazy, yes it wasn't to busy but it's got to be looked at as a service sometimes.
Inconsistant Course Condition
The course layout has its ups and downs, but more so the condition of tees, fairways and greens. Too inconsistent for a single round of golf. The front 9 seemed more enjoyable as sprinklers left running on fairways and greens on the back 9 spoiled our play. Slightly over priced when compared to better course options on the Gold Coast.
Immaculately presented course
played this course for the first time, it was presented in immaculate condition. Great layout and challenges
