Great course
Love this course. Despite storms and heavy rain last week the course drained well. Bunkers were big puddles but that was no surprise. The greens were first class. Good consistent speed.
Hard to find value
6 groups on one hole. No sign of a coursr marshall...... pace of play was terrible. 5 hours to play 14 hole. Eventually lost light and could not finish the round. Pro shop could not care less. They seem more happy to take your money and run than offer a good day out.
Other than that course was in fair condition and played well .
Golf
Great course had dried out from overnight rain moved around at a great pace will definitely play course again
Glades - The Hacker's Augusta
The Glades is a beautiful course, and with recent discount promotions and cheap prices it has been great value for money as far as being a nice course that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. If youve played other courses around the coast, it sits somewhere between Arundel Hills and Lakelands.
My only beef with the Glades is that due to being nice AND affordable, a typical Saturday or Sunday afternoon will see a LOT of congestion. Tee times are 8 minutes apart, but as there is no starter at the first tee you see a lot of groups just pay and then go play with no regard for order. The day I played was forecast to rain and there were a lot of cancellations, so the front 9 was a breeze - 3 of us mid-high handicappers finished the front 9 in 1:45, but as we hit the 10th tee, there was a group getting ready to tee off, a group halfway up waiting for a clear green, and a group walking off the green. I dont know if people had been allowed to start on 10 or if they had been slow all round, but this is my usual experience at the Glades. Ive not played a single weekend round without having to wait.
They should probably bump the teetimes out to 10 minutes, and charge an extra 10 bucks per person or something.
Due to the amount of hackers, some of the easier to hit greens have a lot of pitch marks that go unrepaired, which is sad. To the courses credit, there are signs up all over to fix pitch marks but I believe there are too many ignorant players who can afford to play.
If you have a spare $90 before midday or $75 after midday to play 18 in a cart, Glades is definitely worth checking out (probably on a weekday to avoid the weekend players).
The course was in good condition. The greens were fantastic and sneaky quick.
Great day out.
Beautiful course, lovely greens
Course is in great condition overall with beautiful playing surfaces, other than the bunkers. Must be some problems with drainage etc as some had water in them and most were very hard with no sand. Such a shame as, according to publicity, the bunkering is a Greg Norman design feature. Otherwise a fun round of golf with some very interesting holes.
Great course
Course was in good condition. Greens good pace. Infrastructure needs money spent on it. Pathways and bridges are pretty dodgy - showing their ge.
Always good
I always love to play this golf club with friends.
First time
Course layout was great but greens were below average and overall tide and needs some love
Excellent experience
This course is a must for avid and intermediate players like myself
Love the layout and the fairways are second to none however since the recent rains, carts were mostly kept off the fairways which slows play and the green were not at a $76 a round standard.
